Private Site Invite New User

  • Unknown's avatar

A user who had been invited to my site previously, and been accepted, has now had her account cancelled. She has now re-applied and when I add her email address (the same one as before) to the ‘new user’ form I get an error message telling me the address is not valid. I have tried several time, even cutting and pasting from an email I received from her yesterday but the same error message appears.

    How can this be resolved?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi milnathort,

She has now re-applied and when I add her email address (the same one as before) to the ‘new user’ form I get an error message telling me the address is not valid.

What is the email address of the person you are trying to invite to ladiesgolfdotme.wordpress.com? If you let me know, I’ll look at what is happening from our side.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

The email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

That email address is still connected to their closed account. It will only be completely deleted from that account 30 days after the account was closed, and that person will only be able to create a new account with that address/you’ll only be able to issue an invitation to that email address, after that happens.

When that person closed their account a week ago, we sent them a confirmation email to that address. Please ask them to reply to that email so we can help with this – we can then either restore their closed account, or manually disconnect the email from the account so they can use it for another account. But we can only help them with this directly – we can’t make any changes at your request.

Thank you for the information above. It is very helpful.
I have contacted the owner of the closed account and sent her your instructions.
