PRO plan is gone? Seriously?
-
I started recommending wordpress.com pro plan for ecommerce because it was an absolute deal.
$15/month for basically unlimited scalability.
I guess it was too cheap to be profitable.
$20, or even $25 was fine.
But now to create an ecommerce on wordpress.com it’s $59 a month.
It is way to expensive compared to the competition, like shopify at $29 a month. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out. You can read more about our decision here:
Regarding setting up a WooCommerce site, you can do so on the Business plan.
What the eCommerce plan gives you specifically over Business is WooCommerce and a number of free and premium WooCommerce extensions are pre-installed and are included in the plan pricing, including:
– Product Add-Ons premium extension
– UPS Shipping Method premium extension
– Storefront Powerpack premium extension
– Premium child themes for Storefront
– and more! That’s the main difference; any of the costs of adding popular premium extensions to your WordPress.com site is built into the eCommerce plan, whereas you would need to purchase any premium extensions separately if you’re on the Business plan.
I hope that clarifies things! Let us know if you have any questions.

helper-heroponriki thanks for your reply.
1. what is the difference between the Pro plan and the Business plan?
2. do you have a list of all the premium addons bundled with the eCommerce plan? -
I think the business and ecommerce plans could be merged into the pro plan. With storage addons on all plans, then the picture would be complete, in a more rational way.

I think “pro plan” better, because someone can opt for the plan without having Woocommerce in mind.

@radtrad
I think the ultimate best solution would be to integrate the business and ecommerce plan directly into the woocommerce website
so people would be able to directly sign up for a woo store with hosting included directly from the woo official website, just like shopify.
I sent a concept to Matt Mullenweg, the owner of Automattic but I haven’t heard back yet.But again, people would be able to sign up for woocommerce or woocommerce pro directly from the woocommerce homepage.
to this day, so many people (and even web agencies) don’t know that wordpress.com offers a great hosting service for its own product, woocommerce
