Problam embed Facebook posts on my Site

Hallo, i tried to embed it as you explain here

Like all embeds, I assume you have to unlinked the link. Have you tried this? Use the unlink button in the Visual Editor to do so.

Here’s the Support doc, although the instructions are pretty much the same. There’s also a shortcode option there.

I’m going to point out that embeddable FB posts are strictly limited to posts which are already set to Public. Those posts are not. They are viewable only by your friends, etc.

TPTB need to update the Support doc to make it clear.

Interesting. Though I’ve changed one of my posts to Public to test this, I’m still getting the FB warning about privacy settings in my WP.com test post.

I have tried now with the code and it doesn’t work when i replace it with my link.
– I didn’t find the like/unlike button in the Visual Editor.

Not like/unlike, but link/unlink. :) The button looks like a broken link and is next to the button where you create a link. (#11 here)
I didn’t test all your links, but the ones I clicked are public, but I don’t think that this will work for Facebook Pages, only Posts.
Since this thread is already marked for staff, we’ll have to wait for their input.

I’m still having trouble with my test post (Staff can click to see it). In that post, your FB photo shows up and mine has a note about privacy settings, even though it is a cover photo and has been public from the start.
Yours is from your FB Page; mine is from my profile.
Hope that helps someone figure this out. Will check again after Yom Kippur.

So:
1. The FB object most be public
2. You need to past it’s address into this shortcode structure:

I updated the support page to clarify that the Facebook update has to be public in order to embed it. Thanks for that feedback!
@justjennifer – I see what you mean about your cover photo not showing up in that post. I believe this is because your Facebook profile itself is not public, but I am checking with the team to try to get more information about that.

Like I stated above, the photo I tried to embed is a cover photo, which by default is marked as Public on Facebook. Indeed, viewing my FB profile as “Public” the photo is entirely visible. Will be interested to hear what the team has to say.
(FWIW-I’m also having a problem embedding a public G+ post, but will make a separate post on that.)

I checked with the team, and they confirmed that even if the post/photo is public, it can’t be displayed unless the timeline for that Facebook profile or page is public. If you have your profile hidden from search engines (so it can’t be viewed when logged out of Facebook), the embed won’t work.
