Problem accessing WordPress.com account

For some reason, I can no longer log into my WordPress.com account. I need to do so to set up a Gravatar image for a new user. Please help.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Unknown

    Hi there!

Can you let us know what the URL is of the site where you’re having this problem? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.

    Thank you!

    Thanks!

Also, you’re already logged into your WordPress.com account by posting to the support forums.

So you should be able to login at gravatar.com and update your photo there.

If you’re still having this problem, please take a screenshot of the problem in question. If you’re not familiar on how to take a screenshot, this support document will help explain how to make one:

    Take a screenshot

Then, use a service like Snipboard.io to upload the screenshot and then share the image link from that service here and we’ll take a closer look.

    Thanks!

The problem is that I cannot directly log into Gravatar any longer, because it is interlinked with WordPress. When I attempt to log in, I get stuck in a continuous loop back and forth between Gravatar and WordPress authorizing me to log into Gravatar. I can no longer get to Gravatar.com to change the photo.

Further complicating the matter is that in the Profile Picture section of WordPress Edit User (the one for whom I want to add the Gravatar image), the link which reads “You can change your profile picture on Gravatar” is not available as it is on other users. Therefore I cannot set the image from that screen as I did for the other users.

  • Hi there,

I tried accessing Gravatar.com as your account from my end, and was able to log in, so I suspect it’s something in your browser that’s causing the issue.

Please try clearing all cookies for WordPress.com, wp.com and gravatar from your browser and see if that helps. If you’re using a browser add-on that blocks cookies that could also be the problem, so try temporarily disabling that and see if it helps.

Failing that, try logging into your WordPress.com account in a different browser, and check if you’re then able to access Gravatar.com that way.

Further complicating the matter is that in the Profile Picture section of WordPress Edit User (the one for whom I want to add the Gravatar image), the link which reads “You can change your profile picture on Gravatar” is not available as it is on other users.

If you haven’t created a Gravatar identity for the email address associated with that user account this is expected. On a self-hosted WordPress site like https://www.loveineveryface.org/ that Gravatar link will only appear for any given user if that user’s email address is already tied to an account on Gravatar.com.
