Problem adding a Ning badge in a text widget

Hi all,
I’ve been searching the forums and FAQ and can find only confusing answers to this – can I add a badge from a Ning powered forum to a text widget in my blog? When I try, WordPress seems to strip away most of the code – if I can’t do it, is it possible to add this badge anywhere else in the blog?
The code is like this:
