Problem adding link with new editor
-
Hi,
In the new editor, adding links unfortunately changed for the worst. To add a link, a bar appears. I paste the link then I click the arrow which means “apply” and nothing happens. I tried a few times without success. Then I tried to click the link button in the menu again and somehow it worked.
But two more annoying things: First the link bar will not go away and I don’t see a way to close it. After adding the link the bar won’t go away.
Second, after the link is entered the page moves to the top of the page. This is very annoying. I don’t think this happened with the old editor. I need to scroll all the way down where the link was. I think after the link is inserted the page should stay where it was.
Note: I checked with the old editor and I see that the same thing happens (after inserting the link the page moves to top. This did not happen before.)
Sorry, I didn’t mean to be critical of your new editor but these seems to be legit issues. I hope you can fix them.

Hi zeynel1,
Sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble. It would be great if you could send me the following:
- The browser(s) you are having trouble with and their version numbers.
- Your operating system version (can be found on supportdetails.com).
I’ll pass these details on to our developers — we’ve received a couple of other reports about the jumping behaviour and the link button being unresponsive so it’s something they are already looking in to but all new information is helpful :)
Thanks for reporting this.

Hİ,
Thanks for your response. Here are the information you requested:
MAC OSX 10.11.6
Chrome 70.0.3538.102I think that the link bar does not make inserting a link easier. I always check the “open link in new tab” button when I paste the link. In the old editor I could do that when I pasted the link. In the new editor I need to click the options buttons after pasting the link. So why did you feel it was necessary not to open the options window directly when I click the link icon on the menu? It would be best if I can have a global option to set so that all links open in new tab.
I also like to thank for changing “paste as text” button. I was complaining that when I click the “paste as text” button (the icon with a T) a window opened telling me that now paste as text option was on! I thought this was another unnecessary step. In the new editor I see that clicking the T icon highlights it and I can paste as text. I hope this will stay like that.
Also, I like the new editing environment. It looks less cluttered and I found it easier to read and edit the copy. But I’m not sure I understand the point of having “blocks”. Maybe you can have detailed explanations in the future.
Thanks

Thanks for providing those details. I’ve added your case to the previously opened reports with the same issues.
