Problem adding users
-
When adding users (as admin, editor, author etc), they receive the email link but on accepting the invitation they get the message, “Sorry, this activation code is for another blog. Please ask the blog owner to send another.”
Have tried getting them to clear cache and try again but that doesn’t help. I’m having the same problem with different people and using different browsers.
Any help appreciated.

I too have a similar problem. I have invited 2 of my friends to be contributors to sangaaa.wordpress.com. Though they have accepted the invitation a few days back, the date accepted column in my Users’ page shows the status, “Waiting/pending”!!! How do I resolve it?

@222kat, I can’t see the blog at the link you provided above, because it is set to private.
You may want to play around with inviting people and following this support article, http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/

Yes, it’s intended as a private blog. We’ve already read the support pages but unfortunately they don’t offer any troubleshooting advice. We need to find out what is causing the problem, rather than having multiple attempts and hoping it works, so it works first time when we invite others. To be honest I think we’ll go with a different blogging platform. Thanks

@222kat
Please submit all of your details directly to Staff in a support ticket. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form. -

so I’m getting the same massage. I just want to know if I’m doing something wrong or there is a general problem.
-
Yes — I’m having the same problem right now… started last night, and previously had no problems~ I contacted WP, but am also wondering if there is a general problem…

Thanks, and while I can’t speak for anyone else, that’s the exact way I invited followers to my private blog. It must send them a bum link.
-
Same here. I did invite people the very same way it used to work for months. Starting today the receive links that do not work anymore

Thanks for your help timethief. I don’t have a private blog and I was able to add a user yesterday in the new way that you have posted.
It’s only today where I have encountered a problem, so maybe there’s a general problem with adding new users?
