Problem changing from reader to author

  The site is private. pommy11 has accepted my invitation to view and has for many months been receiving an email when new posts are added. I now want to give her permission to be an author but when I sent out the invitation letter I get message “invitation not sent, the user has blocked invite emails.

  Her name in the invite new users list , under Actions, shows accepted.
  Her name also appears in the readers list.

  I checked her word press account and under settings/ subscription delivery the instant email delivery button is enabled, the format is HTML. Block emails is unticked. The only blogs she follows is this one.

  Help.

  I checked again after 20 hours and still get the same message.
