problem deleting blog

  I can’t delete my blog. I have followed all the steps outlined here, but instead of an email to verify that I want to delete my blog, I get an email thanking me for signing up with WordPress and asking me to click a button to activate my account! I have a new blog at a new host and need to delete this old one. How can I do this???
