Problem domain mapping to .co.nz url.
-
Hi.
I have a wordpress blog <nandorandngahuia.wordpress.com>. I want to domain map to a domain I purchased separately – which I had to do as when I got the wordpress upgrade I didn’t realise only US suffixes can be obtained via wordpress. So I want the url to read <nandor.co.nz>.
I entered the name server details where I purchased the domain name <ns1.wordpress.com> etc up to ns3 – in lower case (I don’t think that makes a difference??).
I have waited about 3 days. When I go to the domain mapping bit in wordpress, it takes me to a page that says:Register a new domain name or map one you already own to your WordPress.com blog
Free as part of your WordPress.com bundle!
What domain name would you like to use for your blog?I enter <nandor.co.nz>, click ‘go’
and nothing happens
I have looked at lots of forum entries and the support pages and have not found anything to help me understand the problem.
Can anyone help??
Thanks

Changing the name servers is an important step, but it looks like you forgot to configure the domain mapping settings on your site here that allows it to work with your domain registered elsewhere.
No problem though, I have configured everything on my end, and set up nandor.co.nz to be your primary domain, which you can verify by going to Store>My Domains in your site’s Admin Dashboard.
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks Jerry. Sorry to bother you with what sounds like a basic mistake. Appreciate your time.

No problem. None of us are born knowing this stuff, so I am at least glad I could help!
Happy Blogging :)
