Problem during Import/export from wordpress.com to selfhosted wordpress

Hello,
I did the transfer from my old wordpress.com blog to my brand new site http://www.clementchambaud.com but I get a error message concerning the import of library.
Actually, all media in my library were not imported even if all pages and articles of my old blog were imported but when I open those pages and articles, pictures are visible (either in the article in the edition panel or on the website) except for the “featured images” that all disappeared (either in edition panel and website).
My question is, did something went wrong and I have to do the import/export again or is it normal that pictures were not imported (I got an error message so I think it is not normal) ?
Images are still visible in my articles, so I suppose the media on my new website are linked with my old libraryif and if I delete the old wordpress.com blog, then all my article will be “naked”.

Hi, can you tell us what error you got?
Also, sometimes featured images won’t be set automatically with the import, but you may be able to find a plugin that will set them for you.

I tried several options before to answer you back:
– For exportation from my old website I use “all content”
– For importation on my new website I tried without ticking “Download and import file attachments”. It import all the articles and pages, etc.. but it says “impossible to import myfiles.jpg” and for some other “myfiles.jpg already exists”. In my library I don’t have any of my pictures, but I have a file with the same name as the XML I imported but with “.txt”– I also tried with ticking “Download and import file attachments” (I don’t know what it is used for ?) and I got a 500 internal Server Error”

I don’t know if you did something or if it just took time for the picture to be added to my media library but there it is. I don’t know if they are all here, I will check, but it seems ok

@clementchambaud sorry we can’t do as much to troubleshoot your installation. The 500 errors you got may provide some clue.
If I were in you shoes, I would try importing again then cleaning up the duplicates on my own.
