Problem exporting xml

  I’ve been trying for days to export my blog as an xml file. I click Tools>Export>Start Export>Download Export File. Then it tells me “Your export is being processed!
  A download link will be sent to {email address} when the export has finished.” But I never receive the email. I have checked my spam folder, and it is nowhere. I have tried this a dozen times. What am I doing wrong?
