Problem getting custom menus to show up in the custom menu widget list

  I created 8 custom menus, but only 6 show up in the list under custom menu widget. Online documentation states, “4b. If you want a menu to appear in your sidebar or other widget area, go to Appearance > Widgets, add a Custom Menu widget, select the menu from the widget pulldown, type a title, click Save. This is where only 6 of the 8 show up.
