Problem importing comments from Blogger

  I started up a WordPress site last night with the intent of importing my blog from Blogger.

  I got all 286 posts to import…but comments stopped importing from mid-July of last year on.

  I’ve tried going through the import processes several times to see if it would work…but no more comments will pull from Blogger.

  Any suggestions?

  2 things come to mind:

  1) Take a look at the comment that it’s stopping at. Does it have any weird HTML code that may be causing an issue with the importer?

  2) You could always delete from Blogger what’s made it over. That way the system isn’t pulling it twice. It may be a time out issue.

  drmike,

  i checked the comment in question and there was nothing unusual.

  however, i’m a little hesitant to delete blogger files totally…since we don’t know if a timeout IS the issue.

  do i just take the plunge and try…or is there a way to start import from place stopped?

  Not that I’m aware of. How many posts and comments are we talking about anyway?

  all the posts (289) downloaded

  and of the 8212 comments…about 300 to 500 have downloaded.

  i went and deleted about five of the earliest posts at blogger to see if that would help with any “time out” issues…it didn’t. (however…they were very short posts with only a handful of comments…i just thought it would be enough to see if the process would actually work…but, no)

  8212 comments, huh? That is a lot.

  I’m at a loss actually. I’m having issues with the blogger importer on my own WPMu install currently. Best bet would be to send in a feedback and ask if 8k comments is too much for the importer.
