Problem importing Tumblr to WordPress

    Hello there,

    I am a new user and have been trying to import my Tumblr account to Word Press for the last five hours. I used the Tumblr import feature upon setting up my account which simply asked me for my Tumblr URL and password. It then seemed like it was working. However the action/status bar keeps saying “In Progress” with the wheel periodically spinning as if it is doing something, but so far after five hours there are 0/0 posts imported, 0/0 drafts imported and 0 pages imported.

    I don’t really have any idea if the whole system is stalled out or is buffering something but it seems like an awfully long time and still nothing has shown up.

    I thought I had been following the import instructions carefully and correctly. Perhaps Word Press is overloaded or Tumblr is overloaded or I have made in importing error, but I did want to try to get this straightened out as soon as I could, in the event that there is an error somewhere else.

    Can you help or suggest what I could do?

    It does say to contact support if it takes over 24 hours to import your Tumblr and that it might appear as though nothing is happening for a long time. However…

    I’ve been waiting for over 24 hours now, and still nothing. It’s possible that with the current exodus from Tumblr is causing server overload. If nothing else, I can at least confirm that you’re not the only one having a problem..

    Well, thank you very much for your prompt reply. Perhaps there’s nothing I can do but wait for the time being. You are probably right regarding the mass exodus from Tumblr but I had no idea what to expect having never used Word Press and didn’t know if I had just simply done something wrong and it was simply never going to load. Perhaps eventually it will.

    Can I ask you just one other thing? Since you have been trying to migrate for over 24 hours, does your progress bar also say 0/0 posts loaded etc. ( with the progress/status tab periodically spinning) or are some numbers actually beginning to appear on your screen?
