I just found a page to change the name but when I put in thegrammaticaleye in place of thegrammaticaleyecom it says the name is reserved. So still stuck and need help.

Hi there!
The address
thegrammaticaleye.wordpress.comcan’t be used because it’s reserved for another user who has a matching username. It’s not possible to get that address for your site.I see that you registered the domain thegrammaticaleye.com. Once you upgrade your site to a paid plan (see our plans and pricing here: https://wordpress.com/plans ) you will be able to set the thegrammaticaleye.com as the primary address by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#set-a-primary-address
After you’ve done that, your site will load at thegrammaticaleye.com, and the WordPress.com address thegrammaticaleyecom.wordpress.com will redirect to it. So you don’t have to worry about the underlying WordPress.com address of your site while you have a custom domain there.
Using a custom domain as the primary address requires a paid plan, that’s why I suggested upgrading. If you upgrade, you can go to https://wordpress.com/help/contact to access email and live chat support (depending on your plan).
Hope that helps!
