Problem Installing WebPress and using existing website

  Hi I’m new to webpress. Someone else made made the website, now I am in control to the website. To install plugins you have to download webpress onto your computer. The problem is when I download it and go through the setup it creates a new website, and I don’t see a way to sign into my existing website, so that I can install plugins. Is there a way that I can get into my webpress website so that I have full control?
