problem loading page

    Hi there

I have a wordpress blog (scriptingrage.com) with the domain name registered with godaddy.com and email at 1and1.com. Recently I received messages from 1and1 that the nameservers were set incorrectly. Yesterday I reset the nameservers with 1and1 and pointed entered the nameservers with godaddy. I then tried loading my wordpress blog and got a message saying that there was a problem loading the page. I logged into wordpress and saw a message that the nameservers were incorrectly set (ns51.1and1.com and ns52.1and1.com) and I had to change them to ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com, which I did. Still I’ve been unable to load my blog – it’s still the message ‘problem loading page.’ I’ve tried clearing cookies and clearing the cache. I contacted 1and1 because I assumed it was a problem from having changed the nameservers, and it doesn’t seem to be that. I’m just not at all clear about where the problem is and how to solve it: if it’s wordpress, my registrar, or email.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

The issues that you’re currently having is that your domain is actually pointed at ns51 and ns52.1and1.com, so that is why your domain is not coming up with us.

In order for your domain to properly resolve with WordPress.com, you do need to have your nameservers pointed towards us at:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Once you’ve pointed your nameservers here, you can create custom MX records which point back towards 1and1 that allows your email to function properly. You’ll need to get these records from 1and1, but once you do, you won’t need to worry about any errors showing on your 1and1 interface, as long as your email continues to function correctly!
