Problem mapping domain – error message says 'too many redirects'

  • Unknown's avatar

I have recently successfully changed my nameservers. Our old domain [greentheatre.com] successfully linked to our wordpress site [greentheatrecompany.wordpress.com]. Then, when I did the last step and updated the primary domain in the store, there is now an error message when you try to go to the page. It says ‘Too many redirects occurred when trying to open…This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.’ I’ve cleared my cache and all that, but the error messages makes it sound like that is not the problem. Have I done something wrong and can this be fixed asap?

Thank you in advance for any help.

  • I am seeing greentheatre.com point correctly to your WordPress.com site.

It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. Are you still seeing that error when you go to greentheatre.com?

Also, do let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
