Problem migrating site, still points to WordPress IP adress

    Hi,

I am transferring my site to be hosted at GoDaddy, and I have changed the nameservers and I have edited the DNS to point to the new IP adress more than 2 days ago. Its still pointing at the WordPress IP adress, and so the site is down and appears parked by wordpress.

Please help me get this fixed, so I can continue manage my wordpress site under different hosting.

  • If you are going to use an IP record to point the domain, you need to leave the nameservers set to the WordPress.com values. The IP record won’t work correctly if you change the nameservers to the GoDaddy ones.

In short, you can use either nameservers or IP records to point a domain, but you cannot use both at once.
