Problem purchasing a domain for a new site

I’d like to create a new blog with a custom domain IE myname.com and I just get thrown to premium upgrade for $99 so I tried to just do the personal Upgrade for $48 which it will do but then the checkout does not include the free domain name like the premium upgrade does. If I pay for the premium upgrade do I get a free domain for multiple blogs I might create

Your personal upgrade comes with a custom domain. Kindly follow the steps outlined here to see if it works:

Each plan comes with one free domain credit. However, you can set up additional domains on the same site as add-on upgrades.
Registering additional domains through WordPress.com starts at $18.00 per domain, per yearLet me know if this helps.

Yes, you can use the Personal Plan, yes, but you need to add the plan first. If you add the domain first, Premium is selected automatically.
Go to My Site ->Plans and buy the Personal Plan, and then you can go back and claim your free domain at My Site ->Domains ->Add.
