Problem removing plugins and themes
-
Hi folks, I am serving a small personal site from my desktop. When I’m on my wordpress site (alexlindsay.info), and I try to uninstall plugins using ssh2, I always get this error: “The connection was reset.” and the plugin is not deleted. I can install plugins just fine. Also, when I try to delete themes, I get this WordPress error that says: “Cheatin uh?”, but the themes actually do get deleted. Can anyone offer an explanation? Obviously since I serve the site from my desktop, I can manually go in and delete the plugins, but this wouldn’t help me if I wanted to do so remotely

I should say I would like to be able to do it remotely using a web-browser. I could also do it remotely using ssh from a terminal, but I’d like to be able to do it from a browser too.

We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs.
Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Your alexlindsay.info site is not hosted here. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.
