Problem Switching To Own Domain Name

Hi, I have a wordpress.com blog. However i wanted to drop “.wordpress” from the name so I purchased my own domain. I have changed the nameservers to ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com.
When I do a DNS report I get SOA failed. However the nameservers are in place.All I want to do is make my blog go from xxx.wordpress.com to xxx.com which I own. What do I need to do? N will I need to pay something to wordpress for this?
When I goto the Domains option from the dashboard and enter my Domain name I get:
“You can add the domain xxx.in to your blog right now. You can use it as your blog address for 10 credits a year. You have 0 credits available.
You must buy 10 credits to finish this purchase. Please click the Buy 10 Credits » button to buy credits through Paypal. You must return here afterwards to complete the purchase.”
Can someone guide me? I’d be really grateful!

I’m sorry? I didnt get you! I also have another domian I need to use. vaibhavsharma.in The problem is both must be the same.
But can you please explain a little? N will I still get the buy 10 credits things?I’m really grateful for your help.

The problem in both must be the same cause I purchased them together.Can you please expalin a little. I have little knowledge avout these things, what ever I know is from what I’ve read here. Will I still get the buy 10 credits box?

You could not start the domain process because you could not set the nameservers and get the correct result. So I created the entry here that allows the nameservers to work for you – that’s what I posted above.
Now you go to Options > Domains and the rest of the process will then start – enter the domain name on that screen.

Okay, So I need to enter this entry at the control panel for my domain? Under what Head? Till now after buying the domain, all I have done is remove the two nameservers that were already there and enter ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com.
This might be getting irritating for you since it must be something trivial but please bear with me.

Now your domain returns the right result, the process can start.
Go to Options > Domains in the blog.
Enter your domain name in the small box and click the button
It will check the nameservers are correct, it will then ask you for the $10
After you have been to Paypal and paid, in your bog go back to Options > Domains
There you then click ‘Put blog here’ to change the actual url of your blogNote: If you use an e-check or some other form of payment that can take some time then you cannot change thr ul until that has cleared.

Thanks a ton pal. Just one more thing, after this process is over will my old permalinks still work? Or will get converted to the new URL?
