Problem updating a post

    Having trouble updating a post I update virtually daily. Today I click on Update and it doesn’t update. A message appears on my browser that no information has been transmitted by the server.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Error code: ERR_EMPT_RESPONSE

    Initially, after a delay, the update went through after I’d tinkered with the Chrome settings. But today, that device had no immediate favourable result.
    “Trouble continued, mainly long delay .. then “No data received” … then try again, again, again, round in circles.
    Well, I moved browser from Chrome to IE & lo(!) the update was there. The post I was updatoing is the 2nd in line on the blogsite “Each Way Winning …”
    IE didn’t show any improvement, either, when I tried to add one letter to a word in a post “Unsung Hero … ” (well down the list but with a link recorded on my list of contents, http://wp.me/p3D0FT-5D . But I was finally successful in this tiny task.
    As regards the editing mode, I used both Classic and the updated versions without great difference in performance/outcomes. (Sometimes they switched independently of me somehow.
    All a tedious glitch to contend with!
    My broadband suppliers (Virgin Media) are sending an engineer tomorrow to look at the set up here, but I don’t know if they are here on the same issue – I think they told me they weren’t but some other issue had caught their attention.

    All right, well, please let me know if the visit from your internet provider corrects the issue. If you are able to speak with the technician, tell them the problem you’re having and see if he can run tests on your connection.

    The engineer came and seemed in a rush – caught me below par as I had been up all night & just out of a sleep when he arrived. He beetled about, left me his number and said he had not been able to access cables at the base of my block (due to cordoning off for impending major works – which include internet access for residents variously).
    He pointed to a difficulty with the strength of signal to my flat, and I infer that this may be the root of our problem.
    I have had minimal dealings with the internet since without obvious difficulty. Posted a comment on the blog perfectly well in the past hour.
    Suggest we keep this thread unresolved waiting for further news as my blog usage reverts to normal proportions, after Christmas in all probability.

    That sounds reasonable to me. Please let me know what happens. I hope this frustrating situation is resolved quickly…it would be a nice Christmas present for you :)
