problem updating email address

Hello, I have an existing blog linked to an old email I no longer use. for some reason my current email is showing as already taken, I believe because google logged my into wordpress with my current email and automatically created an account with that email. I want to delete this account and continue just using my old blog, with the correct email. any advice on how to fix this?
I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

update on my question above: I fixed the email issue, however I still have two wordpress accounts. if I delete one will that affect the other in any way? I’d like to delete the one with username justincdemeter. thanks.

Hi! I don’t see the other account, and I also don’t see any sites attached to this one. Since we don’t see connections here, I don’t think it would affect the other in any way.
You could close this account, then have us restore it within 30 days if you have trouble.
Also, please be aware if you close it, the username ‘justincdemeter’ will not be freed up for use later on. It will be permanently deactivated after the 30 day grace period.

that’s good to know that if I delete justincdemeter it wont be available to use in the future; I suppose keeping it open does no harm, even though I’m not using it.
