Problem uploading images

Hello, I’m getting an error message every time I try to upload an image to my site. The images are between 200-600kb each so they are within the maximum file size.
The error message says the following: ‘The server cannot process the image. This can happen if the server is busy or does not have enough resources to complete the task. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2560 pixels.’
I was uploading images from the same gallery yesterday and it was working fine. Not sure what it could be? Would really appreciate some help.
