Problem uploading pdf photo
-
Hi there! I’m trying to upload a photo for my blog. Instead of loading like my other images, wordpress is making it an attachment. Is it doing that because it’s a pdf file? Is there any way to make the photo show up on the post without it being an attachment (and does an attachment show up as a link to my readers?) Thanks in advance for your help, I appreciate it. The lady who sent me the photo is 88 years old so I don’t want to ask her to resend it – she’s already confused enough.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If your image is a PDF, it will be treated like any other PDF and WordPress will create a link to it.
You should convert the image to a .jpg, .png or .gif to have it show up properly in your blog. If you don’t have the means to do that, you might try taking a screenshot of the PDF and then using that file:

So wordpress links all pdf files? I didn’t realize that. Thank you, that’s super awesome of you to get back to me. Thank you for saving me from a hopeless endeavor!
I’m sure her original photo must be a jpg, I’ll see if I can get that. Thank you again.

What if the pdf photo is in a word document, and I uploaded the word doc into my post? Is that possible?

Nevermind, you’re brilliant, I tried the screenshot, Thank you so much, I never would’ve thought of that in a million years.

You’re very welcome.
And yes, when you upload a document that isn’t an image to the media library and insert it into your post, it will show up as a link. You can have it show up as an embedded doc using Scribd, http://en.support.wordpress.com/scribd/ but that isn’t idea for this particular situation.
