problem uploading pictures

I can no longer import pictures into my media library. this has never been a problem before. I even downloaded the newest version of Java since that has caused some picture problems in the past (but only in that I couldn’t run a slideshow on an older Java version). Updating Java did not resolve my problem.
I can still access my uploaded pics in my Media Library but cannot add new ones.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Anaber99,

What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache and restarting? How much of your 3GB upload limit are you using?

    Cheers,
    -Brian

Hi Brian – I used Internet Explorer 9. But I just now got in thru Moxilla Firefox and was able to upload 4 pictures. Then the program stopped uploading.
I am nowhere near my limit (still have 86 percent capacity left). Now what?

Well, that’s a start. So just to see if I’m understanding, are you only able to upload four pictures at a time, and then four more pictures? Or did you just get the four and then when you try again, you can’t upload anything else? I wonder if you clear your cache again and restart, maybe you can upload more pictures.

Hi Brian – I just shut down my computer to restart and tried Firefox again. This time, I could not upload any more pictures (the 8 pics I was able to download in my first attempt before it got stuck are in my Media library). I see the empty squares for the pictures that I am trying to download but the downloading does not proceed.
When you say “clear your cache” what exactly does that mean?

I just tried importing one picture at a time, that worked. Then I tried 3 at a time, that worked, too. So maybe the system was overwhelmed before when I tried to upload about 10 at a time?
    Thanks for your help.

Just out of curiosity, how big are the files you’re trying to upload? Maybe it will help if you use an image editor like Photoshop or Picasa to shrink your pictures a little before uploading.

I always shrink my images before uploading to 150 dpi and 8 inches for the largest side of the picture.
I think what happened here was that I was trying to upload 10 or 12 pictures at a time and the system just got overwhelmed. By uploading smaller batches, things were working again.
Thanks for your help. Very happy things are working again. I just posted my WPC on Texture!
