Problem using godaddy domain name

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I was using a blogspot.com hosted blog on a godady domain name. I wanted to switch to wordpress and so imported my blogspot posts (http://raj-esh.blogspot.com) to wordpress. I then added the 3 dns to my account in godaddy as mentioned in the wordpress faq.paid 10 bucks for the domain thing enabled in wordpress.

Then for a few minutes it worked. wwww.grajesh.com (my domain name) would open rajeshg.wordpress.com but after few minutes, while i was tweaking the blog, it stopped working.

if i type in grajesh.com or http://www.grajesh.com, i dont get anything, the browser just opens the default search engine.

can any of you help please?

    http://www.grajesh.com registed with godaddy
http://raj-esh.blogspot.ocm is my old blogspot blog
    rajeshg.wordpress.com is my wordpress blog

    Help please, thanks in advance

Both links (after fixing the typo in the second one) take me to a blog entitled “Me, myself and me, myself”.

The problem is that it works sometimes and other times like now i get the following error message

    Network Error (dns_server_failure)

Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting the DNS server.
The DNS server may be temporarily unavailable, or there could be a network problem.

For assistance, contact your network support team (NY I).

Please see if you can help. Thanks in advance!!

Just for reference, you copied and pasted what you’re supposed to do:

For assistance, contact your network support team (NY I).

    But anyway…

A quick check on the domain shows everything looks fine and your blog comes up here fine. The issue is on your end as I’m 99% sure that it’s a caching issue. Best bet would be to clear your browser’s file cache. In additon, you also need to clear our your computer’s DNS cache as well. If you’re on a PC, open up a text prompt and type the following:

    ipconfig /dnsflush

if you’re still having issues after that, you’re local ISP is probably caching DNS requests as well and there’s nothing you can do until your ISP updates it’s DNS information.

    Hope this helps,

I tried using ipconfig/flushdns also. Just to make sure my blog shows to others, can anybody tell me if they can reach my blog.

    Thanks!

Ditto. I’m not familiar with your ISP so I can’t give you any details and being on a locked down terminal, I can’t ping your local nameservers to find out for sure.
