Problem with a hacked account

  • Unknown's avatar

A few months ago someone hacked my google account and stole my youtube channel.
I had to create a new google account with a new email, to create a new youtube channel and replace my videos.
Now I have the following problem.
When I’m in the internal list of articles on wordpress
    [https://aatosmihalis.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php]
with ctrl and left click opens in a new tab either editing or viewing.
But if I copy the directory in word then the same process produces the message

    Unsupported Browser
Unfortunately this page may not work correctly in your browser.
    View supported browsers
    Continue loading the page anyway

If I “continue loading the page anyway” then it takes me to the page

This is the old google account.
Obviously [due to the stress of hacking] I must have made a mistake somewhere. Can you help me remove the old google from the wordpress page?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi there,

I’m afraid I don’t understand what the issue is.

As long as you’re logged into your WordPress.com username account, which you are as you were able to post this forum thread, you should be able to view your site’s dashboard or preview unpublished posts in your browser. There’s no intrinsic link between your WordPress.com account and your email account, and a change in your email account won’t affect in any way what you can or can’t do in your WordPress.com account.

If I “continue loading the page anyway” then it takes me to the page

    Connect with your account
    aaatosmihalis
    [email redacted]

This is the old google account.

The email address you quoted here is a Hotmail address, not a Gmail one, so I also don’t understand what you mean here by saying it’s the old Google account.

I don’t see any issues at all with the WordPress.com account you used to post here, and from your description it sounds like the issue is rather with your browser. Clear your browser cache and cookies, and see if that makes any difference. If you’re logged into a profile in your browser, also log out of that, then log back in.

If that makes no difference, check if you still get this error when using incognito mode, or a completely different browser.

The problem is complicated because at the moment there is:
    – a hacked youtube account
    – an inactive google account
    – an inactive email
    – a necessarily new youtube account
    – a necessarily new google account
    – a necessarily new email
All these are somehow related to WordPress.com
There are several small malfunctions that did not occur before the hack.
After ten years of running WordPress I have 2,982 posts, with 500 videos which are in the hacked youtube account and which I have to transfer one by one to the new youtube account.
The easiest way is to use this internal dashboard copied to word to delete the checked posts. But I cannot do this as for example with the dashboard of the new youtube account.
I conclude that somehow I should be able to delete the old google account to which I now have no access.

  • All these are somehow related to WordPress.com

In what way? None of those accounts have any link to your WordPress.com site or account, and we have no control at all over your ability to access any of those accounts.

After ten years of running WordPress I have 2,982 posts, with 500 videos which are in the hacked youtube account and which I have to transfer one by one to the new youtube account.

The fact that you have Youtube videos embedded in your WordPress.com site doesn’t create a connection between the two. Embedding videos is a one-way process – Youtube sends the content to us, and we display it. From our end we don’t have any control over what happens in your Youtube account.

I conclude that somehow I should be able to delete the old google account to which I now have no access.

For that you’ll need to contact Google support. That’s not something we can help with from our end, as we have no access to Google’s systems or control over your Google account.

I don’t know how but they have some connection. I cannot prove it but I feel it “on my bones”. After all my internet experience has taught me that internet is a “crazy hospital”.
For example today [for unknown reason] the “projection” of the dashboard [I copied to word] is working!!!
So half of my problem is dissolved “in a miraculous way”. I can transfer the videos quite easily. Now the only thing is to hope that the disruption of the hacking will stop here.

    Google support is totally useless.

Complaint: It’s a pity that WordPress.com has so degraded the help and capabilities of free packages.

wordpress.com certainly hasn’t degraded the features of the free packages. If you want more features, you can always upgrade to a paid plan. Our help is limited to problems on the wordpress.com platform. As @kokkieh said, the connection with Gmail, Youtube, etc … is a one way connection despite what “you feel in your bones”.
