Problem with adding media to pages.
-
When I add media to my Events Page by uploading a file from my computer to my media library and Inserting it no longer has a hyperlink associated with the title and is not blue characters or clickable.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
After you add the image, please click on it, and then click the “Link” button in the toolbar. The URL to the full size image will appear by default. When you click “Ok”, the link will be added as you expect.
-
The media that I am trying to insert are pdf files. This I have done hundreds of times and they usually appear with a link already attached. This suddenly doesn’t happen anymore. All you get is the title of the file without a link i.e not clickable.
-
This problem applies to Posts as well as Pages.
The files upload to my media library OK but don’t appear with a clickable link in the Posts or Pages.
I have found that if I click on the file in my media library and get its full URL I can then Highlight the file name in the editors and add the link using said URL it works OK. -

I am unable to follow your instructions as I am not adding an image, so there is no image to click on. As explained I am attempting to add a pdf file to Posts or Pages using add media function.
I put the cursor where I want the Link to the file to appear then click add media. I then upload the file, then click Insert into Message. The name of the message is inserted without having a link associated with it.
I have tried Inserting other pdf files that are already in my Media Library that I have already successfully inserted into other Posts previously but they no longer insert properly into new posts or pages anymore. The Name of file is inserted but it doesn’t have a link associated.
I hope this is clearer.
Thanks John S

I’m a new customer. My pdf image is not uploading to my header. Reading this email string is terrifying. Are you sure your product is usable by a novice? Please help!

@ John:
I’m happy you could sort this out — nice work! I’ll have a closer look, and see if there’s a bug afoot.

@joycecresswellgmailcom:
You say you’re trying to upload a PDF to your header? Can you give me a few more details? Typically you can only add a JPG, PNG, or GIF image to your header.
Lots of novices use WordPress.com, and it’s best to start slow. As you learn more, you can take advantage of the more advanced features. WordPress grows with you. :)
If you’re brand new, this resource should come in handy!
