Problem with categories

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hey,
I need some help. I’ve got 4 different categories at the moment, 3 for texts, 1 for photos, there are more to come. Now I tried to add 2 “categories for the categories”, for example “Texts” (in which my categories for texts can be found) and “Pictures” (in which my categories for my photos can be found) for arranging it more clearly. Well, I failed.
Can anybody tell me how do that? I’d appreciate it :)

maybe someone else could understand your query, but i couldn’t, sorry… do you mind explaining it in other words?

Categories can have children. Just create your new categories, then set the two new ones as parents for the others. Dashboard → Manage → Categories, then Edit. They’re handy for RSS feeds, because a feed for the parent category includes all its child categories.

I’m sorry, obviously I’m no native speaker so my english isn’t the best, furthermore I was kind of in a hurry when typing that post. Got the answer already from another wordpress-user, but thanks anyway sulz.

    Hi Kimik0,
Thanks for your reply- clearly explained, re categories. I was easily able to apply your instructions, but first, I had to find you…because I had forgotten how to get back to where I had posed the question. (I know: DUH) Finally I Googled littlepatti-your reply was on one of the pages, so I had your name.
I’ll keep an eye open for your solutions.
YIKES! So much to learn, so little time.
    Regards,
    littlepatti
