Problem with Categories

    A category “1” keeps appearing and I have to keep deleting.Anyone know why this is and how can I stop it? Can someone also advise how long the admin take to approve categories – been waiting 3 days.

    I have removed the category for you, and it should not return. This normally occurs when you attempt to delete the default posting category (set via Settings -> Writing in your dashboard).

    Regarding the category approval problem – categories simply do not need to be approved at all. Once you attach them to a published post on your blog, they will appear in the sidebar under “Categories”. If you add a category, however, and have not yet attached it to a published post, it will not appear.
