Problem with Classic Editor selecting text

    Starting a week or two ago, selecting text with the classic editor only works some of the time. I drag the mouse, select the text (highlighting it), click the mouse and the selection immediately disappears. Sometimes I select the text and try to copy it but nothing is copied. Other times, I select the text, try to delete it and nothing happens. The text remains selected.

    The problem seems especially bad if I try to select large portions of text or text in different paragraphs. But sometimes the problems happen when I’m trying to select a few words. This isn’t happening except on my blog. I’m running Windows 11 on a PC. The problem exists with both the Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Brave browsers.

    Strange — do you have the same issue if you use the classic block within the block editor?

    And, as you mentioned it’s happening on just the blog, is that on every page or post?

    I did some testing and here’s what I see: when I drag the mouse, I let go to select the text. I don’t click the mouse again unless I’m option-clicking (right-clicking on my system) to copy. Normal-clicking a selection just deselects it, but that’s been my experience in every editor. Is that what you’re seeing?
