Problem with comments even though I have set them up in discussion settings

    When I view my blogpost on my site, no comment box appears. It has done once or twice, but mostly it is not there. I have been to discussion settings and clicked all the appropriate boxes, and I’m not using any plugins. A friend read my post and saw the box–tried to comment but was denied. What am I doing wrong? I’m using theme twenty-sixteen.

    Hi,

    I just made a comment on your post Make No Mistake. It wasn’t published because it’s being held for moderation. This is due to the settings at Discussion Settings. See the Comment Moderation section of the Discussion Settings support page.

    A friend read my post and saw the box–tried to comment but was denied.

    It’s hard to say what the reason for that. It depends upon your settings. Was it held for moderation like mine? Do your settings require non-members to create WordPress.com accounts before they can comment.

    The theme applied is irrelevant.
