Problem with connecting the website to new domain.

    Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with connecting the website to new domain. My old domain was “home-daycare.com.au” and I had no problem connecting to it. But this time I re-branded my business and want to change the website’s name to “syndeynanny.com.au” but I’m getting an email from WordPress and seem like it’s not working. The email as follows:

    Howdy!

We noticed that you’re connecting the sydneynanny.com.au domain to your site, homedaycaredotcom.wordpress.com.

You’re almost set! There’s one last setting you’ll need to update to get this change to take effect: updating the name servers for sydneynanny.com.au. Name servers are what link your domain to your website, so you’ll need to set your name servers to connect to WordPress.com.

Please update your name servers to:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

These must be changed with your domain registrar — the company you purchased your domain from.

You can update the name servers yourself with the steps outlined in this support guide, or contact your domain registrar and ask them to do it.

Alternatively, you can also connect your domain by using A records and pointing them to WordPress.com’s servers. We strongly recommend using name servers to point your domain to us. However, there are cases where using A records may be preferable. You can find the details and values for using A records in My Site -> Upgrades -> Domains -> sydneynanny.com.au

Once the name servers or A records are updated it can take up to 72 hours for the changes to take effect, so things might not seem to work instantaneously — that’s normal! You can monitor the status of the update from My Site -> Upgrades -> Domains.

    The end of email.

I followed these instructions already, but this email got sent to me again and have no idea why…

I would appreciate very much if anyone who had a similar problem or have idea how to fix the issue.

    Kind regards,

    Maho

  • Hi there,

    Hi Maho,

I’ve checked your domain sydneynanny.com.au and noticed that it still has the old name servers and A records. This is the reason why you’re receiving repeated emails from us to update those records.

Updating name servers can sometimes be a bit tricky, so don’t worry. The best course of action now is to contact your domain provider directly. They can assist you in correctly updating and saving the name servers in your domain management panel.

Once your domain provider has made these updates, remember that it can take up to 72 hours for the changes to fully propagate across the internet. So, a bit of patience is key here.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to get back to us. We’re here to help.
