Problem with CSS

I have custom design active for 2 free WordPress blogs, timothyjjarvis.wordpress.com and treatisesondust.wordpress.com, but at the moment none of my customization is taking effect when viewing the blogs. When I go into the customization tab, I can see them as they are with the alterations to the style sheet taking effect, but viewed from the web, they’re not working.
I’ve written a few changes into the style sheet to change bits of formatting – I’m not very good with CSS(!), but I tweaked a few things in the template mostly through looking at web tutorials and trial and error. Until recently my changes had been taking effect, but I’ve noticed today that they no longer are, when the sites are viewed from the web. When I go into the customize tab, though, they show as I want them to, with the changes active.
I’d be really grateful for any help with this – sorry the query is a bit confused!

Hi, looking at https://timothyjjarvis.wordpress.com/, I see a good bit of custom CSS. Can you give me some examples as to what is not showing up correctly? I’ve compared what I see in your customizer preview with what I see on your actual site, and unless I’m missing something, everything is looking the same for me in Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
