Problem with DNS

     Hello,

I have recently transferred my domain from wix.com to wordpress.
In my domain dashboard, the status of my domain is labelled as “active”, although it is not working.I also have a notification that ‘Jetpack is unable to connect to your domain because your domain’s DNS records aren’t pointing to your site.’
It’s been over 72 hours now. I’m not sure where I made my error or how to fix it so my site is accessible again.

I would appreciate any help or advice.

    My website is : www.teaindie.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

It looks like the issue is the domain is still pointing to an external host using a custom IP address, which is why it isn’t loading your WordPress.com site.

I removed the custom IP address and pointed the domain to your WordPress.com site. The DNS change can take up to 72 hours to propagate, but in most cases, it should be effective within a few hours. It will also fix the Jetpack connection issue you saw.

Please note that you’ll want to upgrade your site to the WordPress.com Creator plan to continue enjoying its features. You can do so by clicking “Reactivate plan” on your dashboard.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

    Thank you so much.

I have one more question. Is it possible to ad “www.” to my website’s URL, so instead of teaindie.com it would be http://www.teaindie.com?

    All the best

When someone enters your site’s address as http://www.teaindie.com, they will automatically be redirected to the version without the ‘www’. Using the ‘www’ version as the primary site address is not feasible.

This practice is recommended for SEO purposes because search engines favor a single version of the site address known as the canonical URL. Having two URLs (the www and non-www versions) can lead to duplicate content issues, potentially harming your site’s search engine rankings. Therefore, we prioritize the non-www version of your domain to mitigate this risk.

Including ‘www’ in a domain has become outdated, as modern web browsers like Google Chrome no longer display it in the address bar. However, if you prefer to advertise your site with ‘www’, rest assured that people can still access your site by typing it with ‘www’. Our system ensures automatic redirection to the non-www version.

I hope this explanation clears up any confusion!
