Problem with Domain mapping

    Hi all,

I registered a domain (www.5wheeldrive.ca) and want my WordPress Blog (fivewheeldriveband.wordpress.com) to use this new .ca domain.

It has propagated with all of the DNS Servers around the world; I did need to add a zone in order for this to happen. (All DNS Servers now show nsX.wordpress.com)

However, now when I try to switch it on my dashboard to start using the new domain name I get the following error:

Invalid key [10]. Back (back is a link to obviously go back but takes me nowehre).

Anybody have any ideas why this won’t work for me?

    TIA

    Gary

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
DNS Zone added! WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers. What is possible is purchasing an annually renewable $13. per year domain mapping upgrade to map to an existing domain.

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog then you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Thanks fo the response timethief. I have done all of that ($13) last Wednesday. Without adding the zone, none of the DNS servers would show wordpress as the name server. I tohught I read brecause I had a .ca domain I had to do this.

I’ve been all over the whatsmydns.net site and it currently shows all Servers as having the correct info. But I still get that error when I change to the 5wheeldrive.ca domain as primary.
