problem with domain mapping (mapping mysite.wordpress.com to a Belgian domain)

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I’m struggling with domain mapping now for a couple of days and my registrar seems to be lost by now as well. I purchased the paid upgrade (12 $) yesterday evening but things are stuck still (website not accessible).

    Current status:

    1) http://www.ictcalimero.be has become my primary domain (subscription active)
    2) my name-servers have been correctly set to wp-name servers

    But … no dice.

thanks in advance for helping me out,

    Howdy,

It looks like you purchased the Site Redirect upgrade — you’ll need to purchase the Domain Mapping upgrade instead.

I added a zone record for this domain, ictcalimero.be, and added $12 in credits to your WordPress.com account.

Please follow these instructions to map your domain:

    Hi,

many thanks for helping out but things have become fairly confusing. Yesterday evening (CET time), everything worked fine (including domain mapping). However since this morning this is not the case anymore (and I was forced to reuse the wordpress.com as the primary domain).

From the moment I use the .be domain I seem to trigger a kind of endless loop (.be redirecting to .com and the other way around). Personally I have the impression the configured .be-redirect (as instructed by my registrar) is still being applied although I removed the configuration 2 days ago.

I tried to apply the procedures as described in the article (including changing the name-servers to lowercase) but maybe I made a mistake somewhere somehow.

Could you please do a final check and make a change (if necessary)?

    many thanks in advance,
    Wim

Setting your primary domain to ictcalimero.be works properly for me. If you’re still having trouble, can you please make sure you have third-party cookies enabled on your browser?

Many thanks for double checking everything. To me something somewhere must have been cached. Quite intriguing. Anyhow, everything works for the time being. I’ll verify one more time tomorrow morning and will close the ticket accordingly.

BTW ; a sincere compliment from Belgium to the entire staff for the excellent support. Good work!
