Problem with domain mapping removal
-
Hi.
I’ve just cancelled a domain in wordpress.com by clicking in “remove domain mapping”. Now when I try to register said domain with another hosting provider it says that the domain is not available. Should I keep waiting for it to be avalaible eventually or do I need to do something else?
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We need details please.
1. What is the domain URL?
2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. Hi @elserviajero, unfortunately canceling a domain does not immediately release it. It returns it to the registrar.
I’ll find out if the registrar can add it back to your account.

Hi @elserviajero, ah, I just realized this domain was only mapped here.
Mapping is removed. But the domain is registered through 1and1. You’ll want to go there to update your nameservers to your new host. I hope that helps!
