Problem with domain move and re-install

    I moved, or attempted to move, a wordpress installation from one domain to another. The first website was installed in a sub-directory of /wp. The new installation is in the root directory. I have logged into the mysql database via myphpadmin and changed all the information over to the new site. The index does not show up, but all of the directories work fine, ie; /wp-admin etc. I have no idea how to install this and use the old database. When I tried a clean install, it says I already have an installation (because I use the same database attempting to have the same data.

    I know this is probably really confusing, but if someone with better technical knowledge could help me, I would gratefully appreciate it.

    Not all that confusing for here – if you are doing all the moving and installs then you are not hosted on WordPress.COM and need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG.

    The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
