problem with domain pointing to wrong blog
-
This has been a problem for two days and I can’t seem to figure out how to fix it. I hope someone can help. I am trying to tie a domain to blog. I had two and it picked the one I didn’t want to use as the primary. So, I changed the setting to make the other one the primary blog, but it didn’t change. That was two days ago. After waiting 24 hours, I deleted the blog I did not want so that it now shows only the blog I want and it is the primary blog. I’ve waited 24 hours and It’s still not showing it. If I enter the domain name, I either see the 1and1 default page (home of the domain) or the deleted blog page. I also don’t understand why I don’t see the same thing every time I type the domain name in. This should have been very easy, and I am lost as to why it is not. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you.

Just one more thing. I used the link here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/ to Validate My Domain and it shows that it still thinks that the deleted blog is the primary blog. So, that and why the domain is still showing the default 1and1 page instead of the blog are my issues.

Well, the domain is now correctly pointing to wordpress instead of the 1and1 default page, but it’s still trying to point to the deleted blog instead of the correct one. That’s progress! Any ideas on how to make it refresh and point to the correct blog would be helpful. Thanks

Another update, still looking for help. The Domain is now correctly pointing to WordPress, but it will not update to the correct blog. The original blog that was the primary was deleted 48 hours ago. It still shows at that link that I posted above that it is the Primary blog even though in the dashboard it is the other blog – which is the only available. How long does it take to update? I can’t believe it should take this long. So, what is the problem? What can I do?

Still here, still having the same problem. The deleted blog will not go away. It was deleted on Monday. It’s Thursday and the domain still will not point to the only remaining blog on the account. It just says that “this blog has been deleted” and going to the link from 5/19 still shows that the account thinks that the deleted blog is the primary blog. What can I do?

OK, let me try a different approach and see if someone will answer me. How about this… CAN I duplicate the current blog I have and give the duplicate blog the address of the deleted blog? If so, how? Thanks!
