Problem with Dusk to Dawn Theme

    Hi,

    I’ve recently created a blog with the dusk to dawn theme, changed the background colour to blue and added a custom header image. The blog seems to display differently on each computer in the office. For instance on my computer using Firefox version 10.0.2 it all displays correctly. I have viewed the blog on a different computer with Firefox version 3.5.19 and it shows the image but the background colour is a cream colour. Similarly on another computer which uses internet explorer (will need to check version) and that shows blue background but won’t load the image.

    How come there are these discrepancies? Is there a problem with the theme or could it be something else?

    Hi Tony,

    The background gradients in Dusk to Dawn are not fully supported in earlier versions of Firefox such as 3.5.19, so that is why you are seeing the cream background color.

    I checked your site in Internet Explorer 7, 8 and 9 and it displays just fine on my end.

    You mentioned that you changed the background color to blue. Where did you change this background? When I visited Appearance > Background in your Dashboard, I did not see a background color or image set.

    Thanks. Yes you’re right it was the text colour that was changed to green which does work. Blue is the default background colour.

    I would need to check what version of internet explorer is running on the other computer, as for some reason that did not show the header image? My main concern is whether it will display correcly on the majority of computers, I guess it would depend on what percentage of people run the latest versions of internet explorer, firefox, chrome etc.

    It should show properly in most modern browsers, Tony. Super old browsers will show some display inconsistencies but for all modern browsers we check the themes against them and make sure they display properly.
