Problem with editing a custom domain and gettin AuthInfo code

  • Unknown's avatar

I need an authorisation code to move to another host. As far as I know, what I need to do is to go into My Domains and click Edit button next to my domain adn this is where I can request the code. The problem is the EDIT button doesn’t seem to be working. I can not click on it. Could you, please fix it or at least explain why I can not do it and what now?

    Hi there,

The Edit button appears to be working correctly on my side. Can you make sure your browser is not blocking the window that pops up when the Edit button is clicked? In Firefox, you can find this setting under Firefox -> Preferences -> Content.

Let me know if disabling the pop-up blocker works!

    Hi,
Thanks for your answer and help.
I have disabled my ad blocker and changed Firefox’s settings but still nothing happens, when I click that button :( Is there any other way I can fix this or at least request the code to move my domain?

    Hi!

I went ahead and disabled the private registration and unlocked the domain brunetkawkuchni.com so I could email you the domain transfer code. Please let me know if you do not receive it!

Just for reference, additional instructions for transferring your domain can be found here:

    Hi,
Thanks a lot for your help :)
I did receive an e-mail about status change but no code so far. Should I wait a bit longer and check again or will you try sending it again?

  • Unknown's avatar

It can take a bit of time before the code gets delivered. Can you let me know if it’s been delivered yet?

Nothing so far :( I will check again tomorrow and let you know.
    Thanks

    Hey,
I haven’t received that code yet. Also, I’ve tried editing domain again using different computer this time (and my HTC) but it still won’t let me. What now? How can I get this code to move my blog? I really need it done quickly.

    HI!

I was able to retrieve your EPP code. I’ve sent it to the email address on file for your account. You should receive an email from help@wordpress.com. Can you check your email and let me know if you receive it?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I have received the e-mail. So now I just get the code and follow the instructions, right? Hope it’ll go without any more problems :)
Thanks again for your help. You’re a star ;)

Ok, I will probably sound super stupid now but I have no idea how to get that file the email says I can now download (or rather where I can download it from). Where is that file?? Sorry but I do not have a clue about this things :(

    Hi!

You shouldn’t need to download any file from that email I sent. The code was included in the body of the email. Can you let me know if you can see it? It should be a string of random characters.

You’ll need to enter that code at the new registrar where you’re trying to transfer your domain. Can you let me know what registrar that is? Perhaps I can help dig up some support documentation that will help us through the process!

    Hey,
I just got the code you sent me, so I will try to move my domain and hopefully I won’t have to wreck your head again. Thanks a lot.
And the e-mail I received about some file was as follows:

    ********************************************************
THE LIST YOU REQUESTED IS AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD

No idea what was that about but since I have my code, I don’t think I should worry about it any more. Should I?

    Hi!

Ah – yes. You can ignore that email. That was created automatically when I retrieved the authorization code for your domain. You shouldn’t need that email at all.
