Problem with editing pages

  Hello, I am having an issue with the editing section on pages. Once I click on ‘edit page X’ it takes to edit page Y. ‘edit page Y’ takes me to edit page Z and so on… none of them match. I have tried to find support online but couldn’t find anything. Please let me know what to do

  Can you share the URL of your website?

  I’m not seeing any WordPress.com sites associated with the user account you are posting from. This frequently means that you have a site using the open-source WordPress software from WordPress.org, but hosted elsewhere.

  That’s probably because this is a website I managed for work, so they have their own corporate account.

  The website is http://www.dghe.ac.uk.

  Please let me know anything I can do.

  Thanks for that! To clarify, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

  1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
  2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
  3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

  Since we don’t host your site, we don’t have access to nor the ability to affect your site.

  The good news is that because your host uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com), help is available at the community forums here:

  https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

  The folks in the open-source forum are more familiar with these issues and are in the best position to help.
