Problem with Editor – can't change size and color

I have a free wordpress site using Lingonberry theme
I use this for recipes for a group I run on facebook.
The problem I’m having is with the Table of Contents

I can’t make all the entries the right size and color.
There two sections (Basic Recipes and Advanced Recipes)
I made the “Basic” line using Header 2, then used paragraph for the recipes that are listed below it with the links attached to each one.
the recipes are “paragraph” but they come out HUGE.The “Advanced” section header is also header 2
and used paragraph for the recipes below… they come out tiny!When I try to edit them, it takes away the maroon color for the linked recipes and still the size is wrong.
What am I doing wrong? I use the visual editor, not great on html stuff.
