Problem with embedding Twitter

Hey, guys. I’ve run into a problem in trying to embed Twitter on to my blog (ChickenFriedPolitics.com) which has vexed me. I’ve try to use both the WordPress widget and code generated by Twitter to embed the blog in the sidebar of my home page. However, only a link to the Twitter timeline appears, not the full interactive timeline, which isn’t what I want. I’ve followed all of the instructions in WordPress’s video on this topic, to no avail. Not sure if this is a WordPress issue or a Twitter issue, but obviously I’ve gone wrong somewhere. If anyone can offer guidance, I’d be most appreciative.

  • Hi there,

What code generated by Twitter are you speaking of?

The only way to embed a Twitter timeline on a WordPress.com site is via the Twitter Timeline widget, and I don’t see that active on your site.

All you should need to do to activate that widget is to insert your Twitter username. It used to be that you had to create a widget in Twitter settings first, and then get a code from them that’s added to the widget on our end. But Twitter has been phasing that out, and the current widget no longer works that way.

Can you please add that widget again and same it with your Twitter username, then let me know if it still won’t work and I can take a look.
