Problem with featured slider, sticky posts won't show up!

    Hi,
    I seem to be having a problem with my featured slider. My sticky posts won’t show up in the featured slider. I have about 5 marked as sticky and only one shows up. I thought maybe it was the size of the featured image that appears along with it, but I tried changing another to a larger photo size and it still doesn’t appear.

    I’m using the oxygen theme with the showcase page, and my blog is intothecrowdmagazine.com

    The way the Oxygen theme is designed to function is found in the theme description http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/
    Featured images dimensions are important and if you fail to upload and set a featured image in each post then gray box will display.

    In Oxygen you can either have a Home page that displays your posts or a static front page ie. a Showcase template. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/#setting-up-a-static-front-page

    When you first activate Oxygen, you’ll see your posts in a traditional blog format but if you’d like to showcase your content in an online magazine-like fashion, then you can use the Showcase Page template. …

    Post thumbnails are 470 pixels wide, unless you make the post Sticky to show off in the featured slider, in which case they’re 750 pixels wide. Keep in mind: if you mark a post as Sticky but the featured image is less than 750 pixels wide, then it won’t display in the slider and will still disappear from the river of posts. Also note that you cannot crop the sticky post thumbnails.

    Complete newbie here but had the same problem with the Oxygen theme. I thought I had set all the elements in Timethief’s post but still no slider. Solved it by ensuring that the correct page was nominated as my front page, and that the Front page was set as static. BUT – this seems to need to be done in two places. For me at least, my slider magically appeared once I had saved the instruction in … Place 1 – ‘Customise you Blog’ sidebar / ‘Front’ option. Place 2 – ‘Dashboard’ / ‘Reading’ / ‘Front page displays’.

    Ahh found my problem! Everything was set correctly, I just had to set a featured image for every sticky. Now it shows up beautifully :) Too bad I can only feature 6 though.
