problem with firefox
-
i use more tag to shorten my posts. it seems that while my blog will load the main page just fine in firefox, once someone tries to click on the “read more” link to read the rest of the entry, the whole page goes blank. apparently this doesnt happen in internet explorer nor if i am logged in and viewing my own blog.
is there anything i can do to remedy this? is there an explanation for whats happening? is it the theme? am i doing something wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t know if this will fix the issue with IE or not, but you need to put your read more tags on a separate line. In other words, like they are their own paragraph otherwise it separates some of the HTML tags in the posts and causes issues.

If the blog that you’re referring to the one linked to your forum name here, I’m on Firefox 3.0.8 and I can read your full posts after clicking Read On. They usually say clear your browser’s cookies, cache, and history if anything weird goes on.
-
You can review this support document (near the bottom) for formatting issues to avoid with the more tag, and this blog post explains things in more detail: http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2008/08/21/avoiding-the-more-tag-woes/ .

oh, ok. i didnt know that about using the more tag. i’ve tried making the change on a few posts but it doesnt seem to get the posts showing in firefox at all once i am logged out of wordpress.
-
i too am using 3.0.8 but for some reason, i cant see anything on the page once i log out and clicking “read on”. ive cleared the history, cache, etc but to no avail.
-
OK I just checked in Firefox on my Mac and I can’t see anything once I click on the more tag, or on the post title.
I think you are going to have to contact staff directly on this as I don’t really see anything that should be causing it.
Actually I think I have a clue. In the CSS, there is the following:
.fix { display: block;' }And if I change it to the following it works:
.fix { display: inline-block; }Contact staff and give them the URL of this forum thread and tell them to look for my post with the CSS stuff in it.

Interesting. I just changed to grid focus on one of my test blogs and did a test post with a more tag and it works fine in firefox 3.0.8.
As I said contact staff.

I just contacted staff on this issue and gave them the details so hopefully they can get it fixed quickly.
-
I’ve modlooked this thread so hopefully staff will see it.
One additional note is that this only happens when you are logged out of wordpress. If you are logged in to wordpress, then the post displays just fine when you click on read more or the post title and go to the single post page.

Heard back from staff and they could not reproduce the problem, and this morning it is working fine for me also. All I can guess is that some magic gnomes came through and fixed things.
Check yours and see if it isn’t fixed as well.

oh boy, i dont know …. im actually still having the problem. maybe im doing something wrong because nothing has changed. once i click on read more the page goes blank except for the header part of the theme. also, when i hover over a link and the snapshot thing pops up, it shows nothing on the preview page.

@uncensoredmind, Yoav has fixed the Grid Focus theme!! The #respond div wasn’t getting closed when the blog had “Only allow registered users to comment” option selected. Yoav, you Rock!
